Dr. Bartnof has a keen interest in the effects of nutrition on health
and disease. Every patient becomes a health partner with Dr. Bartnof as
he devises a complete, individualized nutritional program called
Healthspan Nutrition Plan®.
It is tailored to optimize the patient’s healthspan and quality of life.
This will often include nutrition that has a

Newer research
indicates that inflammation has been associated with many diseases,
including heart attacks, stroke, dementia (loss of thinking, memory) and
certain types of cancers.
Dr. Bartnof believes that an optimal nutritional program is one that is
balanced with protein, “good” carbohydrates, “good” oils and fats, as well
as appropriate vitamins,
macro-minerals, micro-minerals, trace elements, and supplements--tailored to
the individual patient’s needs. Drinking clean water daily and avoiding
pollutants and toxins in food are both very important.
The emerging field of “nutrigenomics” (how food effects gene products) may
also help Dr. Bartnof design an individualized nutrition program for each
